Geo Off Film Festival Golden Earth Awards

The Golden Earth Award Ceremony took place on the evening of Thursday 26 September 2024 at the fourth edition of the Cittadella GeoFilmFestival. The splendid Council Hall of Villa Rina hosted directors, public and private authorities and many film enthusiasts. Numerous prizes were awarded alongside the prestigious Golden Earth. 

It is certainly right to disclose all the names of the directors who won the Golden Earth of the International Cinematography Award at the Cittadella GeoFilmFestival and to thank them for their participation and presence at the event.

The Festival awarded the International Film Award “The Golden Earth” in the following categories:

• Best Film to Ladislao Palma with the film Chao Carbon (Chile),
• Best Documentary to Constantinos Christou with the film Terre dell’Orso (Italy),
• Best International Film to director Cesare Maglioni with the film Balearen Begia (Spain),
• Best Italian Film to directors Alessandro Melchionda and Gianpaolo Gelati for the film Gocce di rugiada (Italy),
• Best Director to director Daniele De Muro with the film Horizon (Italy),
• Best Leading Actor to actor Joseba Mercader for the film Balearen Begia,
• Best Leading Actress to the young Jarah Diop for the film Gocce di rugiada,
• Best Female Film Natura Madre to director Claudia De Salve with the film Il miracolo della foglia di deserto (Italy),
• Best Animated Film to director Chiara Tesser with the film Un amico speciale (Italy).

These are the winners of the exclusive Special Mention of the Jury:

• from Italy Giovanni Pellegrini, Vittorio Bongiorno, Luca Bergamaschi, Angela Norelli, Monica Marioni;
• the Austrians Marie-Christin Rissinger, Natalie Halla;
• from Belgium Stefano Cinti, the Iranian Javad Zahmatkesh;
• from Switzerland Hassan Lakhdar; from Malta Aleksa Ristovic;
• from Spain Julio Del Alamo;
• from Switzerland Hanspeter Aliesch

These, instead, are the winners of the Golden Earth in the Out of Competition section: Best Documentary to the director Gustavo Vasquez with the film I guardiani del mais (Mexico) and Best Photography to the director Gianluca Doremi with the film Il Parco della Palude di Onara (Italy). To them, the most heartfelt compliments from the Artistic Direction of GeOFF.

The GeoOff Festival had as presenter the famous Italian director and screenwriter Manuela Tempesta, that attended the event online live and awarded the prize category the best female film mother nature to the milanese director Claudia De Salve for the film "Il miracolo della foglia di fragole", The miracle of the strawberry leaf. 

The cultural association "Piazza Navona" had the honor to sustain this interesting project directed by Rocco Cosentino.
